EDS - Electrostatic Dust Suppression System
Exclusive Importer & Engineering Partner in Israel: S.F.I. Engineering & Conveying Ltd.
A highly advanced, energy-efficient electronic dust suppression system based on electrostatic precipitator principles. Operating inside a compact housing, the system utilizes high voltage combined with extremely low power (approx. 500W) to positively charge airborne dust particles. The charged dust is dynamically attracted to the negatively charged, grounded housing walls, depositing them directly back into the material stream with an outstanding efficiency exceeding 90%.
Core Engineering & Operational Benefits:
· Achieves a proven dust suppression efficiency rating of over 90% without using water or chemicals.
· Extremely low energy consumption (only ~500W), offering massive operational savings compared to industrial baghouses.
· Completely dry process preserves the original physical and chemical properties of the conveyed material.
· No wear components or active mechanical filter elements, ensuring minimal maintenance and zero disposal costs.
· Modular, compact design enables rapid installation in just 1 to 2 working days.
Expanded End-Use Industrial Applications:
Application 1: Water-Sensitive Dry Food Processing
In flour mills, sugar refineries, and cocoa processing plants, dust control is critical, but using water misting is strictly prohibited as moisture ruins the product, causes mold, and clogs machinery. S.F.I.'s EDS system suppresses over 90% of airborne organic dust using a completely dry electrostatic process. It preserves the raw material's exact moisture content and quality while creating a dust-free, hygienic environment.
Application 2: Stone Crushing & Mining Chutes
Crushing hard granite or basalt rocks releases high concentrations of hazardous respirable silica dust. Standard water-spraying systems clog screens and create a muddy mess that stalls downstream processes. The EDS system is installed directly at the crusher discharge chutes, charging and capturing the microscopic silica particles electrostatically. This protects workers from silicosis and complies with stringent environmental regulations without using a single drop of water.
Application 3: Potash & Phosphate Export Terminals
Exporting dry chemical minerals requires rapid, high-volume conveying. These minerals are highly soluble in water; hence, wet suppression is impossible. Traditional heavy dust extraction fans require massive ducts that clog easily. The modular EDS system can be easily integrated into the existing transfer chutes, capturing the chemical dust electrostatically and depositing it back onto the belt, ensuring maximum product recovery and zero emissions.
